All Play and No Work

Project Details

Scope: Print, Packaging, Event Design

Role: Art Director, Designer, Illustrator, Event Manager

Client: Big Fish Games

The Situation:

While working at Big Fish Games, I helped organize an all-volunteer cross-departmental group tasked with creating fun events to foster company culture and boost employee engagement. One of the bigger responsibilities of the "Fun Squad" was to put on the annual Big Fish Games Anniversary Party.

The Strategy:

Each year, a new theme was chosen for the party and this event was to be a speakeasy theme. Working closely with other members of the team as well as an event staff, I created custom decor assets to augment the transformation to the 1920's.

The Solution:

In addition to creating custom theming and artwork for the venue, each year we created a gift for employees as a keepsake. What better swag to give out at a Speakeasy night than a custom deck of cards? I designed the cards from scratch and illustrated all 52 faces including two custom jokers.

The cards were a hit.
