My Crooked Path

Project Details

Scope: Web Design, WordPress Development

Role: Adventurer, Designer, Front-end Developer, Bug Smasher

Client: Personal

The Situation:

As an avid adventurer I needed a place to chronicle my experiences and share reports and information on the myriad trips and trails I've traveled.

The Strategy:

Born years ago as a multi-paged HTML website and then later transferred onto the WordPress platform, MyCrookedPath serves as a portal I use to hone my web design and development skills. The current iteration uses a fully custom WordPress theme I created using the _s (Underscores) framework. While developing the theme from scratch I was able to learn the intricacies and nuances of the WordPress platform and not be limited by the creation of child themes based on other's work.

The Solution: provides a web design laboratory that lets me share my love of the outdoors with others. Beginning with a mobile-first design strategy, I blended custom icons, graphics, and photos in an outdoorsy theme to give viewers a unique storytelling experience.
